Colorado anglers can fish for millions
With the fishing season heating up, Colorado Parks and Wildlife is once again joining with Cabelas to offer a few lucky anglers the chance to win up to $2 million in cash and more than $225,000 in prizes by catching tagged fish at select lakes across the United States.
Colorado is one of 19 states participating in this year's "Wanna Go Fishing for Millions?" event, which is designed to give anglers extra incentive to get outdoors and on the water between May 5 and July 8.

"We think this is a wonderful way to call attention to the great fishing we enjoy here in Colorado," said Greg Gerlich, Colorado Parks and Wildlife's aquatic section manager. "Fishing is a gateway to a life of outdoor recreation, so we support family-friendly events like this that encourage folks to spend time together on the water."
Anglers who legally catch tagged fish are eligible for contest prizes. Last year, anglers across the country landed 143 winning fish.
Species to be tagged this year include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, white bass, striped bass, perch, cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout, walleye, crappie, wiper, bluegill and channel catfish.
Site selections have not been announced. Participants who register early will have a four-day advance notice of participating lakes. Complete details of the contest and registration are available online.
Headquartered in Sidney, Neb., Cabelas Incorporated is the world’s largest direct marketer of hunting, fishing, camping and related outdoor merchandise.
Whether you win in the "Wanna Go Fishing for Millions" contest or not, Colorado Parks and Wildlife encourages everyone to get out and enjoy Colorado's myriad fishing opportunities. Colorado residents can buy an annual fishing license for $26. Kids aged 15 and younger can fish without a license in Colorado.
