UPDATE: Body found near Aspen was wearing 'biking' gear

UPDATE: The body found near Pearl Pass on Friday was that of a middle-aged man who appears to have been wearing biking clothes, a Pitkin County Sheriff’s deputy said.

According to an autopsy performed Saturday in Grand Junction, the man was between 35 and 60 years old. He has not been identified. Officials released more details Sunday, hoping to generate leads.

Deputy Michael Buglione told the Aspen Daily News that an autopsy could not reveal the man’s identity nor cause of death. He was found lying near a creek off of an unmarked trail with several layers of clothing on, including socks on his hands covered by gloves, according to the News report.

Light gear was found near his body. He did not appear to be wearing hunting apparel.
