Granby looks into deer harvest within town limits

Granby police are looking into whether the harvesting of a deer in the Granby Ranch area was legal this past hunting season.

A deer was shot on Nov. 9 within the bounds of Granby Ranch, a legal hunt in terms of being licensed. But a town ordinance that prohibits hunting in town may apply, according to Granby Police Chief Bill Housley.

Although Housley did not release details of the hunt because the case is still under investigation, the chief said police were notified by a complaint from a citizen that a deer was shot within the town of Granby.
