USA Pro Challenge not coming to the Springs in 2013

THE DENVER POST

Aspen will host the start of the 2013 USA Pro Challenge cycling race and the time trial will return to Vail, race organizers announced Wednesday morning from Aspen.

Aspen and Vail are among eight cities that will host the third annual race with Loveland and Fort Collins joining the race for the first time.

Colorado Springs, which hosted the prologue of the inaugural event in 2011 and the finish of Stage 5 in 2012, will not be part of the event.

The other cities, all of which have hosted stages in the past two years, are Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, Beaver Creek and Denver.
