FUN ON THE RUN!: Musicians to entertain along a Colorado Springs trail this summer

Need a boost to keep exercising? Consider running the Shooks Run Trail on Tuesday nights this summer.

The Patty Jewett Neighborhood Association is launching weekly entertainment along the trail beginning June 12.

Dubbed Art on the Run, the musical and theatrical events are designed to surprise trail users and share art with the community.

The fun is scheduled along the Shooks Run Trail between Columbia and San Miguel in the Patty Jewett neighborhood, just south of Dogtooth Coffee shop. Performances will include bluegrass and indie music and theater featuring fairy tales and classic fables June 12, June 19, June 26 and July 3 between 6 and 7:15 p.m.

The fun begins with a performance by Squeaky Toys, a bluegrass band.

Art on the Run is sponsored by the Patty Jewett Neighborhood Association, Pikes Peak Community Foundation, Colorado Springs Conservatory and Dogtooth Coffee.
