Super Bowl Sunday starts with a ru

If you're not going to jet to the mountains for some turns Sunday morning, there's a great way right here in town to burn some calories before game time.

(Even us Out There people will spend a few hours In There on Sunday watching the Giants take on the Patriots!)

Whether you walk or run, head to downtown Colorado Springs for the inaugural Super Half Marathon and 5K Family Fun Run and Walk.

The event is being organized by the Pikes Peak Road Runners, and start times are 10 a.m. for the half marathon and 10:15 a.m. for the 5K.

There'll be free parking in the Plaza of the Rockies garage at 121 S. Tejon St., with check-in tables inside the lobby.

The starting line is at Tejon Street and Colorado Avenue, and the out-and-back course follows the route taken during weekly Jack Quinn's Running Club outings to the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail. The finish line is just south of the Bijou Street bridge.

All runners receive a long-sleeved T-shirt and a commemorative pint glass.

You'll find a post-run celebration at Jack Quinn's, featuring food and drink specials. Shirts, glasses and awards will be distributed at Jack Quinn's.
