Trail builders needed for Manitou Incline
Whether you use it now or plan to, the Manitou Incline needs your help!
The Incline Friends group needs volunteers to help reroute a short social trail at the base of the Incline / Barr Trail parking lot.
Meet at the Barr Trail parking lot at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 5 to lend a hand.
A new route for the trail is part of the Manitou Incline Site Development and Management Plan. Although hiking the Incline is still illegal, any work that helps make the entire site more sustainable should help the effort to make it a legal trail.
The Friends group is working with the cities of Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs as well as the Cog Railway and U.S. Forest Service to make hiking the trail legal for everyone.
Helping to reroute the trail also is part of the Friends group's stewardship mission.
Volunteers: Please dress for the weather, take your own work gloves, and pack plenty of water and a lunch.
If you can't help on Nov. 5, please help keep the Incline clean of trash by picking up waste when you see it and restocking the trash bag receptacle at the base with plastic bags, if possible. Every little bit helps!

The trash bag holder at the base of the Incline, donated and installed by Robert Jackson and Michael Everson.
