Help is available for building, maintaining local mountain biking trails

THE GAZETTE

Local groups that would like help building sustainable biking trails can apply for assistance from the International Mountain Bike Association.

Apply by Nov. 5 if you want the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew to visit your group in 2013 to share information about sustainable trail building, club growth and community trails development. The visit includes time spent building a trail, rerouting and reclaiming an old trail or adding features to an existing trail.

The crew can help bring together groups that are needed to agree on building and sustaining trails, such as government agencies, clubs, recreational cyclists and businesses. And its members can help spread the word about the economic, health and wellness benefits that trails and mountain biking bring to an area.

Read more about the program and apply for assistance at the IMBA website.
