Vail locals share spring skiing tips
VAIL — Headed up to the high country with your fingers crossed for snow?
Locals talked to the Vail Daily about how to make the most of the mountain. Here are some of their tips:
+ Skip first chair; wait for the snow to soften up. Ski late morning to early afternoon.
+ Check the grooming report.
+ "Go out and enjoy the good snow that's out there and the good skiing, but don't take anything for granted because conditions are different,” Vail Mountain Ski Patrol Director Julie Rust said. “It's a different year. Keep it slow, keep it in control.”
+ Consider skiing Avanti and Pickeroon; they're good picks for great spring skiing right now, Rust said.
