Cache la Poudre River reopens to kayakers, paddlers, anglers

Officials reopened Highway 14 over the weekend, allowing access and reopening the Cache la Poudre River for recreational use.

The Poudre River has been closed to rafting, kayaking and fly-fishing since June 9, due to the proximity of the High Park fire.

“We’re thrilled and relieved to hear that the Poudre has been reopened for use,” said David Costlow, Colorado River Outfitters Association executive director. “The Poudre has long been a favorite among Colorado rafting and kayaking enthusiasts; our outfitters are excited to make the most of the remaining rafting season.”
